21:12:03 [WillCAD] Okay folks, I think we have enough people to get started with the topic chat.
21:12:08 [Bobºoº] I am sure he does for I don't take great pics just alright ones
21:12:34 [LimeGreenC] lol dnbaci, and if that were true and I'm still chatting, you better run! ![]()
21:13:03 [WillCAD] For those who aren't familiar with Wdwfan (Robert), his site, wdwfan.com, is a fabulous WDW photo archive.
21:13:12 [dnbaci] ha ha
21:13:33 [Tagrel] oops - I'm all confused!
about the names!
Thanks for setting me straight! ![]()
21:13:57 [Tagrel] Thats the one WillCAD!
21:13:59 [WillCAD] Robert has graciously consented to cohost with me tonight, as his knowlege of digital photography is far better than mine.
21:14:23 [Tagrel] I'm sure Bobºoº takes great shots too! ![]()
21:14:25 [wdwfan] BUT ... I'm no expert! ![]()
21:14:41 [wdwfan] Just someone who enjoys taking pictures.
21:14:58 [WillCAD] Bobšoš, the test is, if you look at your pictures and they bring back good memories, then they're GREAT, not good.
21:15:07 [Bobºoº] I sure take alot of them about 25 rolls a trip
21:15:08 [BetsyAnn] º0º
21:15:25 [wdwfan] Oh well ... if you say so ![]()
21:15:25 [Tagrel] What I lack in photo quality, I make up in volume! ![]()
21:15:28 [dnbaci] i need to teach someone else how to use the camera so that it looks like I went on vacation too! I am never in any.
21:15:38 [Bobºoº] Yea BetsyAnn
21:15:42 [Tagrel] Hi Moley!!!
21:15:46 [BetsyAnn] OK I'm ready to talk about pictures now! ![]()
21:15:49 [LimeGreenC] Hi Moley
21:16:04 [Tagrel] LOL dnbaci, that is so true.
21:16:07 [BetsyAnn] Hey Moley!
21:16:10 [Moley] Hey!
21:16:21 [WillCAD] Yes, dnbaci, that's a big problem with everybody's pics. But there is a simple solution: Any WDW CM will take your pic with your camera, just ask them.
21:16:34 [BetsyAnn] me,too dnbaci! ![]()
21:16:50 [wdwfan] Quantity is great when taking pictures. The problem with a regular film camera is that it can get expensive. That's the GREAT thing about digital. Picture after picture after picture ... it's FREE once you have the camera.
21:16:56 [LimeGreenC] I thought the look on Tagrel's face was priceless, when his DW suggested he find somebody to take a picture of all us. LOL
21:16:57 [Moley] They are very good about helping with cameras.
21:17:01 [Bobºoº] exspecially if you go solo
21:17:07 [Moley] Fellow guests will help, too.
21:17:09 [BetsyAnn] I offer to take picture of groups at Disney
21:17:27 [Tagrel] I've gotten many blurred and head chopped pictures from CMs, but with Digital they get to try again! ![]()
21:17:41 [LimeGreenC] a look of "what? I take the pictures" but it all came out good!~
21:17:50 [dnbaci] that's true, we need to do that more.
21:17:57 [Tagrel] Hey LGC!!!
21:18:28 [Tagrel]
It was only because I couldn't FIND a CM. That lady did a pretty good job! She was very nice about helping out.
21:18:33 [WillCAD] Free except when you print them Robert. Ink and paper costs MONEY!
21:18:35 [wdwfan] I know what you mean Tagrel, and I find it strange considering my camera (like just about all digital cameras) has an LCD screen and they see exactly what they are taking.
21:18:35 [dnbaci] i am going to be using the digital for the first time this trip. I normally go through 20 rolls, so maybe I can cut back on that
21:18:49 [LimeGreenC] ROFLOL Tagrel! sorry, had to share ![]()
21:19:21 [BetsyAnn] So to get good pictures is it a matter of taking lots and lots of shots?
21:19:35 [Moley] jes
21:19:36 [Tagrel] I don't know dnbaci - I took over 1300 picture in July!
21:19:44 [dnbaci] how many memory sticks does everyone pack when going?
21:19:48 [WillCAD] With digital cameras, the shakes and blurrs are easy to explain: LAG time. They push the button and don't wait for the pic to snap before moving the camera.
21:19:54 [Tagrel] Yes BA! I only share the good ones! ![]()
21:20:21 [dnbaci] i wish i bought a laptop instead of a desktop.
21:20:21 [wdwfan] Yes, the taking is free ... but the printing does cost $$. However, you get to pick exactly which ones you want. So you kind of save there to.
21:20:36 [LimeGreenC] I've got a really cheap digital and it takes forever for the green light to come back on after a shot. Maybe I'm getting too impatient and pushing the button too much?
21:20:37 [Tagrel] I bring my laptop for downloads and sharing in realtime. We end each day with a slideshow.
21:20:58 [WillCAD] BetsyAnn, pro photographers have an old addage "To get the shot, BURN YOUR FILM!" It means go through lots and lots of shots to get just a few good ones.
21:21:00 [dnbaci] i want to try one of those sites online so my pics come out more proffessional looking;
21:21:25 [Tagrel] Very true wdwfan! We just print the best. 20 cents a print while you shop at Sam's Club... Not too bad.
21:22:15 [MargaretJ] Sorry guys wish I could stay but have to leave now.
21:22:18 [wdwfan] BetsyAnn, yes I think so. If you take only one thing away from this chat ... I think that's a keeper. Take LOTS and LOTS and LOTS of pictures. Digitial makes this so easy.
21:22:37 [Bobºoº] Night MargaretJ
21:22:41 [WillCAD] Bye MJ, thanks for attending.
21:22:44 [Tagrel] I recently got a DVD burner, and Nero Suite software. It makes FANTASTIC slideshows of digital pictures. You can select transitions, text on pictures and even background music. VERY cool.
21:22:46 [Moley] Night MJ
21:22:49 [LimeGreenC] bye MJ
21:23:04 [Tagrel] Bye Margaret
21:23:04 [BetsyAnn] night MJ!
21:23:05 [wdwfan] NIght MJ
21:23:58 [BetsyAnn] I love the slide show idea, Tagrel! how fun to re-live the day
21:24:21 [wdwfan] dnbaci, I have two 128MB and1 8MB (came free with the camera) memory cards. I usually fit around 1000 to 1500 pictures on this. I do NOT take all images at a high resolution, as I know some are only for my site and the 640x480 will do (like a picture of a garbage can or a sign).
21:24:41 [dnbaci] i think i would be too tired to set that up every day, we are a little commando on on our trips
21:25:24 [Tagrel] Windows XP has a built in slide show. I just download the pictures and hit PLAY. ![]()
21:25:45 [BetsyAnn] I am a little nervous about taking the digtal into the parks - it might get wet or broken -- how do you all handle that
21:25:50 [dnbaci] oh!
21:25:59 [wdwfan] LimeGreenC, not sure about your "green light" problem.
21:26:20 [LimeGreenC] I think it's impatientce Rob
21:26:33 [wdwfan] If it was always done that, maybe that's just the way it is ... slow ![]()
21:26:54 [Tagrel] Yes, probably writing the picture to media. That can take a bit on some cameras
21:27:01 [dnbaci] I have no idea how much my memory sticks hold. I have the one that came with the camera as a bonus. it probobly doesn't hold too much
21:27:12 [WillCAD] Well, BA, I think I'll handle it the same as my expensive film camera. Keep it dry, always keep the strap around my neck, and look out for ballistic kids that might bump it.
21:27:42 [LimeGreenC] It's one of those cheap Kodak digitals, like only $100 or less. But it works for all I need I guess
21:27:48 [wdwfan] BetsyAnn, that's a good question, even for regular cameras. I always carry a small plastic bag besides my little Disney camera bag. When we go on rides that it could get wet, put the camera in the plastic bag and then in the Disney camera bag.
21:27:50 [Tagrel] Exactly WillCAD. Its no different than my old film camera. I'm careful with both.
21:27:55 [dnbaci] I am more worried about my regular camera. My digital is a cheaper model than my film
21:28:04 [WillCAD] Robert, you switch resolutions a lot when you are in the parks?
21:28:24 [BetsyAnn] LOL will - I tend to take my cheap camera into the parks when doing serious touring - If it breaks I am not out much!
21:29:17 [Tagrel] I also got a good weather proof bag for my camera. That and big Ziplock bags for the water rides! ![]()
21:29:34 [WillCAD] I also carry a ziploc with me in the parks, but mine has the corners cut out, and I can put the clips of the strap through the holes and still wear the camera.
21:29:57 [Tagrel] Great idea Will!
21:30:00 [wdwfan] dnbaci, yoru camera probably came with an 8MB or a 16MB memory stick. You cannot take many high resolution images on these. Memory sticks are pretty cheap now, so you should consider getting a 128MB or even a 256MB.
21:30:12 [Tagrel] a nice poncho for your camera!
21:30:35 [WillCAD] The only way I'd get my camera wet that way is if I dropped it in a fountain.
21:30:46 [Moley] LOL, Tag
21:30:52 [dnbaci] ok, I'll look into that. i wanted the digital to save on developing costs because I am one of those happy snappers
21:31:04 [wdwfan] WillCAD, I am constantly switching resolutions. It's pretty quick as that's the menu I stay on (press menu button, move up and down between resolutions).
21:31:04 [LimeGreenC] ROFLOL Tagrel
21:31:10 [Bobºoº] Never thiought about my camera getting soked best pack a baggie
21:31:11 [BetsyAnn] That would deal with the water issue for sure, Will
21:31:13 [dnbaci] you know, not happy unless snapping
21:31:47 [wdwfan] I usually take images at 640x480 or 1280x960 (occasionally a few at 1600x1200).
21:31:50 [WillCAD] I like the new zipper-type ziploc bags. Easy to open and close.
21:31:54 [Tagrel] I'm like that dnbaci - I just go crazy (and drive my wife crazy too!) ![]()
21:32:41 [WillCAD] dnbaci> I get the same way sometimes.
21:33:16 [Tagrel] I never know what I'll want a print of so I take all mine at high resolution.
21:33:21 [wdwfan] If that's the case dnbaci, you will love a digital camera!
21:33:25 [Bobºoº] My bro got a digital before their DW trip and came back with maybe 20 pics.:d
21:34:08 [Bobºoº] ![]()
21:34:10 [Tagrel] I love knowing if a picture came out or not. Was everyone looking? Are eyes open? etc.
21:34:22 [LimeGreenC] what is the best bang for your buck as far as digitals are concerned?
21:34:23 [Tagrel] With young kids its a lifesaver!
21:34:37 [WillCAD] LAst trip, I had my camera in the Ziploc and wanted to take a shot of the rain hitting the water in Epcot, so I opened the bag, kept the camera in it, and took the shot. It turned out great! And the camera stayed dry.
21:34:44 [WillCAD] I didn't, however.
21:34:53 [dnbaci] i want to see how many i get, and how good they are before I upgrade to a better digital, my film camera is very good
21:35:01 [BetsyAnn] 20 pictures - that is not many! lol Bºoºb
21:35:34 [Tagrel] LOL I take 20 before I get IN the park! ![]()
21:35:42 [wdwfan] Just to be clear everyone, when I take pictures at 640x480, that's only for my website. That is TOO LOW a resolution to get a good print from. Always take at a high resoltion (or at least 1280x960) if you think you might want a print of it.
21:35:53 [WillCAD] I take 20 to make sure the focus is working.
21:35:54 [Bobºoº] Their just not picture taking people. ![]()
21:35:56 [dnbaci] 20 pics is like half an hour for me lol
21:36:35 [Tagrel] We are like that with Video. I don't take as much video as I should.
21:36:39 [WillCAD] Some folks think of taking pictures as a chore. For me, since I started taking pics a lot, it's like breathing.
21:37:07 [dnbaci] i got my first camera at 8 and i haven't stopped snapping
21:37:12 [wdwfan] LimeGreenC, good question. I can't really answer it though, as I have only owned one digitial camera and haven't really looked around at different models for awhile. I'd say go with at least a 3MB resolution however. Also a TV hoopup option is cool as you can see your images on your room's TV.
21:37:20 [Tagrel] Same here Will. Its a challenge to find a good shot, and pull it together.
21:37:36 [WillCAD] But my film camera has gotten heavier over the years, with a big lens, battery pack, and flash unit. My digital weighs less than my film camera's body alone.
21:37:48 [Bobºoº] how can't you take alot of pics. unless you forget your camera in your room.
21:38:03 [wdwfan] Man, this is hard to keep up with.
21:38:30 [LimeGreenC] Thanks Rob, I'm hoping to maybe get a better camera for an early Christmas present
21:38:31 [WillCAD] Robert, have you tried the TV hookup at the Disney resorts? The TVs at the All-Star resorts don't have RCA plugs.
21:38:57 [wdwfan] To continue LimeGreenC, checking your pictures on the room TV allows you to see it better and decide if you want to keep the picture.
21:38:59 [BetsyAnn] your doing great wdwfan!
21:39:21 [dnbaci] gotta type fast
21:39:42 [wdwfan] Will, yes I have always checked my pictures on the resort TV. The rooms I have been in at the All-Stars (I always stay there, it's cheeper for us Candians).
21:39:45 [LimeGreenC] so you delete pictures on a daily basis Rob?
21:39:50 [Tagrel] I did lots of research on http://www.megapixel.net/html/issueindex.php?lang=en - great reviews of cameras
21:40:03 [wdwfan] have always had RCA plugs (at the back of the TV)
21:40:26 [wdwfan] Another good site for camera reviews is http://www.dpreview.com
21:40:31 [WillCAD] Hm, I guess I was wrong then. I could have sworn that the All-Star TVs had no RCA plugs...
21:41:05 [WillCAD] Dpreview is a great site.
21:41:11 [dnbaci] thanks for those, i am looking into getting my dad a digital video camera
21:41:18 [WillCAD] This one is my favorite: http://www.imaging-resource.com/DIGCAM01.HTM
21:41:32 [WillCAD] But it's reviews can be very technical.
21:41:35 [wdwfan] LimeGreenC, yes I delete pictures on a daily basis. With limited memory (everything is more expensive here in Canada), it's kind of important for me. Plus, some pictures look ok on the small LCD, but once I see them bigger ... I just don't like it (maybe a bit blurry or something).
21:41:48 [Tagrel] Thanks! I have to save these links... ![]()
21:42:50 [wdwfan] Will, I can't say all the All-Star's have the RCA plugs, but the rooms I have been in have had it over the last couple of years. But again, they were in the BACK, had to turn the TV almost all the way around to access them.
21:42:54 [Tagrel] That is very true wdwfan. That small lcd on the camera sometimes looks good while the real image (when seen larger) is blurry, etc.
21:42:55 [dnbaci] will this chat be available to reread later? I have never done one of these and I want to get those links later
21:43:25 [WillCAD] Yes dnbaci, this chat will be logged.
21:43:33 [LimeGreenC] Rob, that makes total sense. I need one of those cables now, gee thanks ![]()
21:43:33 [Tagrel] I will make a point of archiving this chat.
21:43:39 [dnbaci] thankyou !
21:43:53 [Moley] It will be a good one to archive
21:44:14 [WillCAD] Cheri, your camera should have come with one of those cables. If it didn't,. check your owners manual to see if it's an option to buy one.
21:44:36 [Tagrel] I have a question. I have trouble getting good night shots without a tripod. Any tips?
21:44:51 [wdwfan] I love taking night time pictures, and it's essential that the digital camera let you manually set some settings like exposure/shutter setting.
21:44:52 [WillCAD] Use a tripod.
21:44:58 [LimeGreenC] oh, ok, I'll have to look, I know we had to buy some kinda USB cable or something
21:45:03 [BetsyAnn] I was just going to ask about night shots! Thanks Tag!
21:45:06 [Tagrel] LOL, thanks!
21:45:10 [Moley] LOL, Will
21:45:23 [WillCAD] Sorry, Dave, couldn't resist that one. But you can get a mini-tripod that fits in your pocket.
21:45:40 [Tagrel] Here honey, hold this trippod while we walk around Epcot.... ![]()
21:45:43 [wdwfan] AND ... take the same picture ... with a tripod ... over and over and several settings. You can decide later which one is best.
21:46:07 [WillCAD] I have one, and I know Robert has one, too. They are only about 6 inches long and easy to use, and work as well as a big tripod if you have a place to put the camera.
21:46:17 [WillCAD] Trash cans work well.
21:46:18 [BetsyAnn] Night shots with a film camera - best film speed>
21:46:18 [wdwfan] I use a mini-tripod that is like 3 inches high. I usually rest it on garbage cans or rails (holding it of course).
21:46:21 [Tagrel] I have a table top one, but the legs are stubby. Hard to find a good surface that is tall enough. The garbage cans come in handy! ![]()
21:46:50 [Tagrel] I do that too wdwfan! keep changing the settings to see what works best.
21:47:12 [WillCAD] You can also brace your camera against any solid object (pole, rail, trash can). Not as good as a tripod, but better than hand-held.
21:47:21 [wdwfan] My wife loves it when I start taking night time pictures. She knows she can go walk around the stores for awhile.
21:47:52 [Tagrel] LOL wdwfan. SOOO true. Kristen just leaves when I get into tripod mode. I think I embarass her! ![]()
21:47:56 [WillCAD] I got a GREAT night shot once by bracing my camera on the dedication plaque of Leave-A-Legacy. 4-second exposure that turned out great.
21:48:53 [Tagrel] I took a bunch of shots around WL with a tripod this last trip. Really liked the natural colors of the pictures.
21:48:58 [Tagrel] Hi HappyCamper!
21:49:05 [Moley] It's not easy being married to a borg.
21:49:08 [Mr.Baloo] so, what we chatting about
21:49:13 [wdwfan] Tagrel, have you lied down on the floor (because you couldn't find a garbage can close enough) to rest the tripod on the ground to take a picture? Another good thing to look for in a digital camera ... a swivel LCD!
21:49:14 [LimeGreenC] Hi HappyCamper, Hi Mr. Baloo
21:49:18 [BetsyAnn] ROFLOL Moley!
21:49:25 [WillCAD] I don't have a wife to alienate, so I can take as much time to shoot photos as I want.
21:49:26 [Tagrel] You WILL be assimlated. Bring the Tripod!
21:49:27 [HappyCampe] Hi, all. Sorry I'm late. Please continue :-)
21:49:27 [Mr.Baloo] hey all
21:49:30 [dnbaci] are there any special tips for nighttime with a digital?
21:49:48 [Tagrel] Hi Mr Baloo!
21:49:57 [Moley] Baloo, welcome! We are chatting about photography in the parks.
21:49:57 [Mr.Baloo] hey tag
21:50:19 [LimeGreenC] do you really lie on the ground?
21:50:21 [Mr.Baloo] just gonn read and keep shut ... at least till I figure out what we are chatting about
21:50:22 [WillCAD] Hi Baloo and Happy Camper.
21:50:23 [LimeGreenC] really?
21:50:25 [wdwfan] dnbaci, the main tip I have to offer is what I said before ... take the same picture over a few times at different exposure/shutter speed settings.
21:50:36 [WillCAD] No, he's lieing about that.
21:51:04 [Tagrel] I usually switch to manual focus as well. I've gotten better results that way.
21:51:08 [wdwfan] You can tell right away if the image is decent with the LCD and if you're heading in the right direction with the manual settings.
21:51:16 [WillCAD] many cameras offer a feature called Bracketing that automates that 'many settings' thing.
21:51:25 [Mr.Baloo] (must be chatting about disney photos)
21:51:37 [LimeGreenC] lie ing? or lying?
21:51:45 [WillCAD] Yes Baloo, tonight's topic is Shoot the Mouse!
21:51:57 [Tagrel] LOL wdwfan - I just caught the 'lie on the ground' question. Nope, not yet, but I do have a swivel eyepiece that I've used in tight corners!
21:52:04 [dnbaci] my digital is all automatic. all i am allowed to do is push the button
21:52:17 [wdwfan] Laying on the ground LimeGreenC!
21:52:25 [Tagrel] I'd be divorced if I laid on the ground! I'm sure she'd leave for good then! ![]()
21:52:25 [LimeGreenC] If I see ya'll lying on the ground, I'm gonna be calling the paramedics
21:52:35 [BetsyAnn] lol - very confused - who is lying and who is laying
21:52:53 [BetsyAnn] lol LGC
21:53:00 [wdwfan] Lying on the ground ... sorry, I'm Canadian ![]()
21:53:06 [LimeGreenC] "I don't know sir, they were taking a picture and next thing I knew, they done fell out"
21:53:08 [WillCAD] dnbaci, even at that, a mini-tripod or bracing the camera on a solid surface will limit the blurs in low light.
21:53:14 [dnbaci] why were you lying on the ground? Shots of shoes?
21:53:53 [Bobºoº] must not have a temperture. ![]()
21:53:53 [LimeGreenC] it's ok Rob, I'm southern ![]()
21:53:58 [wdwfan] To rest the mini-tripod on the floor. On the ground is the only way I could see the LCD!
21:54:39 [dnbaci] I think i'll see how the nighttime shots look the first night, if they are no good I will switch to my regular camera with 1000 speed film
21:54:56 [LimeGreenC] I'm teasing you Rob! ![]()
21:55:04 [dnbaci] oh boy dead again
21:55:04 [Tagrel] This is what separates the serious photog - will he lie on the ground for the perfect shot! ![]()
21:55:07 [wdwfan] Another tip for night time pictures ... for any type of camera ...
21:55:20 [wdwfan] Around park closing on late nights (like midnight) is a great time for some good night time pictures. Otherwise, to many people in a night picture with a long exposure
21:55:21 [WillCAD] I have used 1600ISO film for fireworks, with mixed results.
21:55:35 [wdwfan] setting and you'll see lots of blurs.
21:56:08 [BetsyAnn] SO at least 1000 for night shots?
21:56:09 [Tagrel] very true again. all those blurry people detract from most pictures. Sometimes it looks cool though...
21:56:32 [wdwfan] I know LimeGreenC! That's cool.
21:56:34 [dnbaci] i don't know how my last set of photos of fireworks came out , i lost the roll
21:56:37 [LimeGreenC] so do you HAVE to have a tripod for fireworks shots?
21:56:40 [WillCAD] E-nights are great opportunities for empty photos.
21:56:43 [Moley] the one fireworks shot you had is the best one I've seen outside professional postcard shots, Will.
21:56:46 [Bobºoº] I think we are all southerns to wdwfan
21:56:56 [Moley] the one with the castle to the side.
21:56:59 [LimeGreenC]
Rob
21:57:00 [Tagrel] I got a cool shot of spectro magic. One of those round cars spinning. Nice effect.
21:57:16 [WillCAD] Thanks Moley. That was taken with 400ISO film, too!
21:57:28 [WillCAD] It's a little grainy, though.
21:57:29 [BetsyAnn] That is a great shot for sure, Moley
21:57:49 [wdwfan] Yes Bob, you all are!
21:57:56 [WillCAD] But Robert has even better fireworks shots on his web site.
21:57:59 [Mr.Baloo] I have a question, if you were in the market to buy a digital camera now, which one would you buy and why?
21:58:14 [Mr.Baloo] the Mrs. and I are getting one for Christmas....
21:58:22 [WillCAD] Does that mean we can say "Y'all" a lot?
21:58:49 [dnbaci] my favorite nighttime shot was of my niece watching the electric parade 3 yeas ago. you could see the glow from the floats on her face and the floats that had passed over her shoulder
21:59:00 [WillCAD] Baloo, I picked an enthusiast camera instead of a consumer camera. Fuji Finepix S602.
21:59:01 [Bobºoº] All Y'all want
21:59:04 [LimeGreenC] Ya'll can do what 'ch want, but I'll say Ya'll ever chance I get
21:59:13 [BetsyAnn] Has anyone put a link to Robert's site in this chat!
21:59:28 [Moley] mmm, that one sounds like a sparkler, dnbaci
21:59:47 [Mr.Baloo] can you get that one for $300 Will?
21:59:50 [WillCAD] http://www.wdwfan.com
22:00:02 [BetsyAnn] sounds like a great shoe, dnbaci
22:00:13 [BetsyAnn] show=shot
22:00:14 [Mr.Baloo] oh yeah those are some great pics on that site
22:00:18 [BetsyAnn] thanks Will!
22:00:20 [WillCAD] No Baloo, I got it on clearance for $450. Regularly around $550-$700.
22:00:21 [wdwfan] Here's a fireworks shot I like ... taken without a tripod mind you (even surprised me)
22:00:22 [Moley] thanks, Will
22:00:26 [wdwfan] http://www.wdwfan.com/show_main.html?n=mk_ck15&p=images/mk/04/&c=10&m=1001&s=104&t=5
22:00:31 [dnbaci] thanks it was, i have it hanging on the wall
22:01:00 [Mr.Baloo] well, if it sold once for 450 it may sell again....
22:01:07 [WillCAD] In the $300 range, I likes the Fuji Finepix 3800.
22:01:42 [WillCAD] Baloo, I got it on clearance because Circuit City stopped carrying that model. I got a floor model.
22:01:44 [Mr.Baloo] I take it you like the Fuji digital camera line.....
22:01:49 [dnbaci] wow that is a beautiful pic wdwfan. looks like a postcard
22:02:00 [wdwfan] I have a Sony DSC-S75. Some people have said they don't sell it anymore. But I think that's just because there is a new version now.
22:02:01 [Tagrel] That is a great picture Rob - did you use a tripod? What camera settings?
22:02:11 [Bobºoº] Sweet, That is a great picture
22:02:12 [LimeGreenC] guys, I've enjoyed the chat! Thanks Rob and WillCAD
22:02:12 [Moley] oh wow, that is a gorgeous shot! Sorry, Will, you lost first place. ![]()
22:02:28 [WillCAD] Robert, that one beats the crap outta my shot that Moley liked so much.
22:02:53 [dnbaci] guess you'll have to go back and try to beat it will
22:03:00 [LimeGreenC] night everybody
22:03:20 [BetsyAnn] Good night LGCheri
22:03:21 [WillCAD] I have a digicam now, so look out Robert!
22:03:45 [Mr.Baloo] yeah that pic, the castle is almost glowing !!!
22:03:55 [Tagrel] Will is a Man on a Mission!
22:04:08 [Bobºoº] bye lgc
22:04:18 [wdwfan] I am pretty sure I didn't use a tripod on that show. I still don't know how I held it so still, but the exposure wasn't that long. The Castle just happened to be really bright at that time. Then again, I might be mixing it up with another picture.
22:04:31 [wdwfan] Looking at it again, I don't think I could have taken that without a tripod.
22:05:02 [Tagrel] Its amazingly clear! Love it! ![]()
22:05:26 [Moley] the resolution is eerie, it is so good
22:05:47 [WillCAD] It could have been hand-held Robert. I've gotten amazingly clear hand-held shots by just standing still and holding my breath.
22:05:48 [dnbaci] not to go backwards, but isn't it hard to set up a tripod with all those people all over the place?
22:06:33 [wdwfan] Yep dnbaci, that's why Will and I both use mini-tripods. Mine is like 3 inches high (plus an inch for the round-thingy to screw into the camera).
22:06:40 [WillCAD] I've never taken a full-size tripod to WDW.
22:06:48 [Tagrel] That never seems to work for me Will. They almost always blur... ![]()
22:07:22 [dnbaci] i have seeen some people do that
22:07:44 [WillCAD] Well, I've had some pretty blurry ones, too Tagrel.
22:08:48 [Bobºoº] Good night everyone. Thanks for hosting WillCAD and wdwfan
