21:15:57 [DisneyPam] and Disney makes the most of the darkness to bring us some pretty amazing nighttime spectaculars.

21:16:20 [DisneyPam] Lets start at WDW's Magic Kingdom and discuss the nighttime events there....

21:17:36 [Moley] You know, I used to think those twirly clown guys were real people. Duh on me.
21:18:06 [PaulF] My wife gets creeped out by the clown guys in Spectro. I think they're cool.
21:18:13 [Moley] Spectro Magic is a wondrous parade of Disney themes, known for its cycling lights from all colors to all whites as the music changes.
21:19:08 [Moley] Capped by Chernobog looming over the crowd and ending with a beautiful panorama of Mickey or Cinderella or whoever it is in the back.
21:19:13 [DisneyPam] It is very cool to watch, isn't it Moley?
21:19:21 [BetsyAnn] The music is fairly calming
21:19:31 [Moley] It is some good character, that much I remember.
21:19:57 [PaulF] One drawback of the viewing spot just over the bridge into Liberty Square is that Chernabog can't open his wings. Not enough room.
21:19:58 [DisneyPam] Doesn't it have the Blue Fairy? And Cindy in her coach?
21:20:13 [Moley] I like it better than the Main Street Electrical but it is very different. More of a majestic feel to the whimsy of Baroque Hoedown.
21:20:25 [DisneyPam] I never knew that Paul...neat bit of trivia.
21:20:47 [Moley] Good trivia, Trivia King.
21:21:05 [BetsyAnn] I like the Main Street Electical parade more - I think it is what ever you saw first -- that's my theory

21:21:38 [DisneyPam] Could be BetsyAnn. I think the music of Spectro isn't as insidious as Baroque Hoedown which is sort of an electronic Small World.
21:21:48 [PaulF] I agree Betsy Ann, whichever you saw first tends to be most folks favorite.
21:21:49 [Moley] We saw Mainstreet first but we saw Spectro the year it debuted for the 20th anniversary. It was also our 20th anniversary.
21:22:11 [DisneyPam] What do you think is the best spot to watch the nighttime parade in the Magic Kingdom?
21:22:25 [Moley] We saw Spectro the very first time from the Train Station balcony and on a bench with an unobstructed view.
21:22:45 [Moley] I nearly had to slay a family of Czechoslovakians to keep that bench, too.
21:22:49 [PaulF] The first time I saw Spectro was on my first ever trip to the World in 96. It gave me goose bumples and I'm not the kind of guy who gets goose bumples.
21:22:52 [DisneyPam] There is a raised bit of curb that I like to grab right in front of Pecos Bill's. IT is great b/c no one can stand in front of you and there is a wall behind you.

21:23:31 [Moley] The best spot is the train station but you have to hold it down well in advance. My secret spot requires only 30 minutes or so.

21:24:02 [BetsyAnn] Saw the Christmas parade from the benchs outside Liberty Tree tavern!
21:24:29 [BetsyAnn] Love a space with a back to it and no one in front of you!
21:24:40 [Moley] It is a bit away from the bridge from the hub to Liberty Square.
21:25:09 [Moley] It is behind the Christmas shop in an alcove right behind the Smoking Allowed area there.

21:25:25 [Moley] It has been opened up in the last 3 years with another bridge right into it.
21:25:44 [BetsyAnn] I see it, Moley
21:26:01 [DisneyPam] behind the Christmas shop?? Hmm I'm trying to envision that area for watching the parade...
21:26:10 [Moley] If you move a bench around facing the parade bridge, you have a lovely spot with the castle in the background. The floats are raised just enough to make the bridge railing no problem for the view.
21:26:13 [PaulF] We used the spot directly across from the crossover from Adventureland into Frontierland, on the Frontierland side. There's a tree with a rail fence around it. We leaned against the fence and the folks in front of us stayed seated through the parade. It was pretty good.
21:26:45 [Moley] The parade is not right on top of you there, but you see amazing detail and you see it in comfort.
21:27:01 [DisneyPam] Cool, Moley. I'll have to check it out.
21:27:16 [BetsyAnn] Same thing for LTT area - the rocking chairs are great and the benchs are good
21:27:22 [Moley] I have sat on that fence, Paulie. Very comfortable and sturdy.

21:28:54 [DisneyPam] Fantasy in the Sky is a fireworks show choreographed to music from Disney film, attractions and television. The score includes music from Davy Crocket, the Haunted Mansion and The Little Mermaid to name just a few.
21:28:55 [Tagrel] Whew! That is quite a keyboard full! 
21:28:55 [Moley] I have the perfect spot.
21:29:12 [Moley] It is very near Tinkerbell's flight and it is a seated area.
21:29:42 [Tagrel] Yeah Moley! She has all the bestest spots!
21:29:45 [DisneyPam] The fireworks are shot off to be a background to the castle if you are viewing from Main Street. But there are many other great locations.
21:29:52 [PaulF] I know the perfect spot if all you want to see is the fireworks and you don't care about framing them with the castle.
21:29:54 [BetsyAnn] The music is really good with the fireworks show - makes it!
21:29:57 [Moley] The music really sets those fireworks apart.
21:30:02 [DisneyPam] The castle also becomes a backdrop for cool pictures such as ghosties and sparkles.

21:30:47 [Moley] It is next to the vine covered overhang over the far left seating area in the Plaza Pavilion.
21:30:56 [DisneyPam] For holidays, Disney adds perimeter pyro to completely
encircle the park with fireworks. It looks really cool when you see it
from Epcot.

21:31:23 [Moley] Most people think the overhang will block their view. Not the tables on the far left. And Tinkerbell can see you and wave to you from there.

21:31:51 [PaulF] For just watching the fireworks, go to Liberty Square and find a seat on a bench near the stocks. Great view as you look towards Fantasyland.

21:37:35 [Moley] No, BA, nearer to Mainstreet is the patio area of the Plaza Restaurant. The Plaza Pavilion restaurant is the mega counter service eatery on the edge of Tomorrowland.
21:37:50 [Moley] But it is over its overhang that Tink comes to from the Castle.
21:38:01 [Moley] The Kiss Goodnight has changed.
21:38:14 [Moley] At least it was different in January.
21:38:23 [PaulF] Ok. Is the 'kiss' just the general feeling of the castle changing colors as they slowly close the park, or is it when the characters all come on the loudspeakers and say goodbye with the colors changing more rapidly?

21:53:14 [Tagrel] We really enjoyed a spot just near Germany. Best view we've had. We could really see the globe well. And no crowd.

21:54:51 [Moley] That little alcove has a view through a break in the trees. Children could sit comfortably with their parents holding them on some walling right there next to the building. Not on the ledge, though. That is dangerous.

21:55:41 [DisneyPam] A few of my favorite places are (1) one of the tables along the wall in the beer garden to the left of Rose & Crown as you are facing the lagoon.

21:56:53 [Tagrel] I think the Germany spot is not crowded because it is so far from both the main exit and the International Gateway! Everyone wants to be a bit closer to the exit! We just wait a few and avoid the crowds.

22:00:52 [DisneyPam] Moley - inital reports are that it will include Disney characters. The CM who gave me a seat on Sunday told me that they will also incorporate some of the characters from the ToN parade as well.

22:09:35 [DisneyPam] The show takes place in an 8000 seat ampitheatre. The stage is a man-made island featuring a tall mountain peak and an imposing moat.
22:09:51 [BetsyAnn] I have only seen it at DL - there you either do the desert thing or wait for hours for a spot - but it is unbelievable

22:10:05 [DisneyPam] Water screens are used to capture scenes from DIsney films projected from behind.

22:10:45 [Moley] That really says Disney, too. Those animations on the water screens bring alive what started it all for Disney, the animated classics.
22:10:48 [BetsyAnn] I love the water screens - almost unreal what you can see in them!
22:11:17 [Moley] There in a park which celebrates and houses a vibrant Animation Studio.
22:11:29 [DisneyPam] It really is amazing. The biggest drawback is that the seats are so darn uncomfortable. Bring a cusion or a sit-upon if you can.
22:11:47 [Moley] and I'm amazed the water screen effect is perfectly enjoyable from any angle in the stadium.

22:13:56 [DisneyPam] The show can be a little intense for younger children, especially those who have difficulty separating real from pretend.
22:14:18 [Moley] Major tip: stop in the Brown Derby and get Grapefruit Cake to go. It is very yummy and you make all those around you hate you for thinking of it instead of them. Neener neener.
