Back
to the room - we
just saw our studio. I asked if a three bedroom was open for
tours
(thinking off all the videos I had seen online, but nope - they were
all full now.) The studio is very nice, and had some great
pluses but
there were also some things that bothered us right away.
We'll start
with the plusses. :-)
- The
bathroom was
HUGE.
And they have both a walk in shower and a shower/tub.
At first I
thought this was great and it really would be but once we tried the
walking shower we noticed a few thing. No shelf...
Nothing. No soap
dish. Nothing! So stupid! I can only hope
they will add one soon and
it was because of a rush to open on time.
Also - the shower
head
is SO powerful it actually HURTS. I usually like a strong
shower, but
this is a very thin spray that is incredibly hard and painful!
Last -
the shower door had two issues. One - it was not hung right
and would
not close well.
- Two -
when you
opened the door it was out
into the
bathroom and all the water on the door ran out on the VERY slippery
marble floor. It was a skating rink in there so BE CAREFUL.
We could
see people wiping out big time. Now I tried the other shower
once as
well, and that worked better. Same shower head but not quite
as
powerful. And it had a lower sprayer that was great for
rinsing off.
The sink area is good with lots of counter top and storage
areas as
well.
Speaking
of
storage -
there is one closet and it has pretty much NO room in in. A
floor safe
takes up almost the entire bottom section and there is no room to hang
your clothes. Each shelf is already full of stuff (like a
pack and
play, big toilet seat, iron, etc. We couldn't really put
anything in
there. The kitchenette area is very nice but small and the
room area
seemed small as well. That was probably due to all our
luggage, but
most of that was in the front area in front of the door to the
adjoining one bedroom. The balcony was nice and big and very
private.
We had booked a lake view, but had a mixed view which was
kind of
cool. It had a down side in that it overlooked the garbage
area, but
it also overlooked the tennis courts, a corner of the lake,
the
parking lot beyond the garbage area AND we could also see the Magic
Kingdom. Space Mountain was actually quite close.
:-) So, we had
lake view AND MK view! :-D So, we could watch
wishes from our room
for the price of a Lake View room. It was 7614 by the way...
The
room
furnishings were
contemporary (of course!) and the big flat-screen TV was
nice. Several
drawers for clothing, and a big cabinet for storage as well.
The bed
was VERY comfortable with lots of pillows in the room. The
pullout
seemed comfortable too but I didn't sleep on it. The room
seemed
pretty quiet although I heard something thumping early both mornings
that woke me up. No clue what it was....
Enough
review -
back
to the trip report! :-D After a couple hour nap upon arrival
we headed
to the pool. Our pool time was lots of fun and its a great
pool.
Slide is fun, they had a DJ
and games, there is a fountain
play area,
nice jacuzzi and Bar with drinks and food. There are some
lockers and
bathrooms right there as well.
- After a
nice swim
we
returned to the room and got ready to run over to Magic Kingdom for the
evening. We just wanted to get our Annual Passes, a Tables in
Wonderland card and grab something to eat. After doing that
we also
hit a couple attractions - Haunted Mansion and Small World.
- Some
friends
coming down soon had sent us some very nice
surprises for the room!
A couple dolls for Brinn and Maddy and a nice basket for
Kristen and myself. Very thoughtful and the girls were very
excited! :-) Thanks Sarah, Jonathon and Brenda!
:-D
Then
it
was back to the resort so we could watch the fireworks from the Top of
the World Lounge. It wasn't too crowded and we enjoyed a
drink and then stepped out on the overlook to watch the show.
Its great having the music
piped in and was very nice.
After that it was time for bed so dad could crash and try to
feel better. It
was a long day and between lack of sleep and this cold I need as much
rest as I can get!
